UBDSBE Climbs Global Rankings in THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026

Universiti Brunei Darussalam School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE) has recorded significant progress in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, reflecting the School’s growing contribution to research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global academic engagement.

The most notable achievement comes from the Business & Economics subject area, which advanced from the 401–500 band to the 251–300 band globally. This places UBDSBE among the Top 10 institutions in Southeast Asia for the subject, marking a significant improvement in its international standing.

UBDSBE also achieved recognition in Economics & Econometrics, which is now ranked within the 551–700 band worldwide. The ranking is supported by more than 700 research publications and international benchmarking indicators, demonstrating the School’s continued commitment to producing impactful and relevant research.

In addition to these achievements, UBDSBE contributed 11.5% of publications towards Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s performance in Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies, which is now ranked among the Top 100 globally (51–100 band) in the THE World

University Rankings by Subject 2026. This reflects the value of interdisciplinary scholarship and collaboration across faculties within the University.

Commenting on the results, UBDSBE noted that the rankings reflect the collective efforts of its academic staff, researchers, students, and partners in strengthening the quality and visibility of research while contributing to knowledge that addresses local and global challenges.

As UBD continues to nurture curious minds and support meaningful research, these achievements reinforce UBDSBE’s role in advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and contributing to the University’s growing international profile.
