Call for Poster Competition


Poster competition is organised by UBDSBE on the first day of 2nd ICBEF, 31 July 2019. The competition is open to all registered research students (Master and PhD) at universities in Brunei and the region. This Poster Competition call is intended for all postgraduate research in the area of Business, Social Sciences, Art and Creative Sciences. The aim of this Poster Competition is to share research ideas of current research students. The event will provide a platform for intellectual discourse between participants and ICBEF attendees as well as constructive feedback from the experts attending ICBEF. The event will also provide a networking opportunity to participants.


Post-graduate research students (master and doctoral) in the areas of Business, Social Sciences, Arts and Creative Sciences from all universities in Brunei Darussalam and the region are welcome to participate in this competition.


Eligible participants are invited to showcase their conceptual work, work-in-progress or completed research projects. The abstract should be no longer than 300 words. The abstract must include keywords and complete author details. The abstract should be submitted to the conference secretariat via email to by 1st July 2019. The decision on acceptance will be notified by 6th of July 2019.


Standard poster size of 48 inches wide x 36 inches high (121.9 cm x 91.4 cm) is recommended. The PDF file of the poster must be set to these dimensions for printing. The presenters are free to organize the contents of the poster as they deem appropriate. Printing of the poster for presentation is participant’s responsibility.


The posters will be assessed based on originality, creativity, knowledge, and overall image of the student’s presentation. Specifically, the criteria highlighted below will be used:

  • Rigor of research:
    • Rigor, novelty and impact of project
    • Appropriateness of methods used
    • Conclusions

  • Display and Presentation:
    • Organization of content such as graphs, figures, tables etc.
    • Creativity, clarity and overall communication effectiveness to a non-specialist audience.
