About UBDSBE
Previously known as the Faculty of Management and Administrative Studies (FMAS), the faculty was named the Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies in 2000. On 4 March 2014, the faculty was officially named UBD School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE) by UBD Council.
As one of the first faculties created during the establishment of Universiti Brunei Darussalam in 1985, the School aspires to gain the national reputation as an academic leader in the area of business, economics, finance, entreprenership and logistics. To achieve this, the School offers a wide array of degree programmes such as Bachelor of Business, Master of Business Administration, Master of Islamic Finance, Master of Management, Master of Logistics and Master of Economics. The school also offers Master by Research, and PhD programmes. The modules for the coursework programmes are customised to produce graduates with marketable skills and leadership qualities in line with the contemporary needs of organisations in an increasingly competitive and globalised world.
In the area of research, the School has developed its expertise with a multi-disciplinary network of researchers in numerous fields as follows:

- Applied Economics
- Halal Marketing and Branding
- Islamic Banking, Finance and Economics
- Quantitative Methods for both Economics and Business Studies
- Strategic Management including Human Resource Management and Knowledge Management
At the international arena, the School collaborates closely with regional and international universities through Memorandum of Understandings that facilitates research partnerships and networks, publications, staff/student exchanges, academic workshops/seminars, and global engagement. In addition to local expertise, the School also comprises international academic members from the Asia-Pacific and European countries with proven research in their field of specialisation and quality teaching.
Aside from classroom-based learning and research, the School also encourages students to learn beyond the campus, through extracurricular activities and the discovery year programme. The programme provides the opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge and skills through incubation projects, community outreach projects, internship at established organisations or study abroad programmes at international partner universities.
Since its establishment, the School takes pride in the accomplishment of its graduates, both local and international, as they attain managerial positions in government and private organisations, as well as those who thrive as successful entrepreneurs.
